How much do bartenders earn?
Bartending, like many other professions, has a wide range of salaries based on the type of establishment and individual personality. A full time bartender in this area can expect to earn anywhere from $50,000- $75,000 their first year.
How do I enroll?
We offer different class schedules but the cost is the same for day, weekend, or evening classes.
You can enroll today for only $100 and you balance is due when you start the program- Just click "enroll online" from our main menu.
We offer payment options for those who would like to pay in segments.

We do offer advanced bartending classes and fun bartending classes and those prices vary from class to class.

Do you offer financial aid?
We offer tuition accounts that allow students to manage their education expenses based on their financial situations to achieve the training they desire on their own timetable. These are set up on an individual basis.

How old do I need to be to Bartend?
The legal bartending age in PA is 18!
Our students vary greatly in age and that should not be a concern as age has never played a role in our graduates gaining employment.
Most people are more concerned with being able to land a bartending job with "no experience". A graduate of CBS has the equivalent of 2 years of bartending experience.
Our mature 18 year old graduates have no problems landing a job right out of the program.
Do I need a high school diploma?
No. You do not need a high school diploma to enroll in any of our classes.
Can I use my tuition fund?
In many cases yes. It is dependant on the specific structure of the fund and its intended uses.
Do I need to re-certify?
Your bartending certification does not expire.
Capitol bartending school's classroom is open for our graduates to practice their skills (free of charge).
The Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) expires in two years.
We offer advanced classes for those looking to learn new skills and grow in their career.

Is bartending safe for an 18 year old?
Do you feel safe as a guest at Longhorn Steakhouse, Devon Seafood or the The Hotel Hershey?
Think about the restaurants and bars that you enjoy frequenting and ask yourself if you would feel comfortable as an employee there.
Bar environments vary and jobs should be accepted based on personal choice.

Can I use my GI bill?
The GI Bill does not cover any Bartending School in it's approved vocational schools.
Will the school help me find a job?
Most of our students enroll in our bartending certificate program to get a bartending job. We are an all-inclusive school. Our job placement program covers everything you will need to insure your prompt success in landing your first job.
We offer a complete resume workshop and service. We also take you step by step through the application and interview process. You will know how and when to apply, and most importantly, what to say to demonstrate your personality, knowledge and skills to bar managers and owners so they want to hire you.
CBS has a step by step process that has worked for anyone who follows it.
Can I just learn how to bartend online?
Many of our graduates came to us after they already wasted their money on an online bartending program. There is no substitution for working behind an actual bar, with ice, glassware, pos systems, and all the equipment you will find behind any bar in the world.
Do I need a license to bartend?
We offer training and certification, license is simply a common term for certification. Our training is second to none and the knowledge and experience you gain is preciseley what gets you bartending with "no experience". There is no legal requirement for a bartending license in PA but there is a legal requirement for the RAMP training we provide as part of the course.
Do you use real liquor?
Yes. Our advanced programs in cocktail creation use actual product as all new recipes should be taste tested.
Parts of our certification program do involve actual alcohol.
Only students age 21 or older are allowed to sample drinks.
Can I learn bartending in 40 hours?
Yes! Our program is designed so that you are successful after 40 hours of training.
You will be surprised how much you know after your first few hours in class- the transformation from start to finish still astounds us and makes us proud of the great bartenders we create.
A few of our students require more attention and we have additional practice available for anyone who needs it.
Are there any additional classes?
Absolutely! Our 40 hour certification program is all you need to land your first bartending job and hit the ground running but there is so much more you can learn to advance your career.
We offer many classes for bartenders looking to earn more money by upgrading their bartending skills. Many of our graduates have advanced in their career to become brand ambassadors, managers, and bar consultants.
We also offer classes for the cocktail enthusiast, people looking for a fun night out, team building classes, and our space is available for private rental.

Capitol Bartending School's instructors have decades of industry experience as bartenders, trainers, and managers.
How many students are in each class?
There is a maximum of 10 students in any class.
